Community Development Block Grant Project
The Strafford County Commissioners will hold three consecutive Public Hearings on July 23, 2020, 9:00 a.m. at the Commissioners Conference Room, Strafford County Justice and Administration Building, 259 County Farm Road, Dover, NH 03820. Members of the public and other interested parties can join via the Zoom link provided below. In accordance with Governor Sununu’s Emergency Order #12, as amended and as directed below.

Community Development Block Grant funds are available to municipalities through the NH Community Development Finance Authority. Up to $500,000 annually is available for economic development projects, up to $500,000 for public facility, up to $500,000 for housing projects, and up to $500,000 for emergency activities. Up to $25,000 is available per planning study grant. All projects must directly benefit a majority of low and moderate income persons. The public hearings will hear public comment on the following
- A proposed application to the Community Development Finance Authority for up to $300,000 in Community Development Block Grant Public Facilities funds. The CDBG funds will be used to replace 2 failing leachfields, tanks and infrastructure piping at Barrington Oaks Cooperative, 5 Barrington Oaks, Barrington, NH. Barrington Oaks Cooperative is a 49 unit manufactured housing park that is occupied by primarily low and moderate income households.
- The County’s Housing and Community Development Plan,
- The Residential Antidisplacement and Relocation Assistance Plan.
